Snowdonia Walking Festival - 5th and 6th November 2016
Welcome to the Snowdonia Walking Festival website. We are delighted that the 2016 Snowdonia Walking Festival will be organised in partnership with Plas y Brenin, the National Mountain Centre. Plas y Brenin, in Capel Curig has been operating as the National Mountain Centre since 1954. There is nowhere else with the same experience not just of leading walks, and expeditions, but with the training and assessment of mountain leaders and mountaineering instructors. Plas y Brenin will be providing all our walk leaders so you can be sure of the highest quality leadership and expect to be safely led, well looked after and entertainingly informed about the places you are walking.
Use the tabs above to find your walks.
We have planned a series of walks of different levels and of different lengths and will use transport from Plas y Brenin to ferry people out to the start of walks or collect them from the end of their journeys where necessary. Each walk will require some level of fitness and commitment from the walkers so please read the booking conditions carefully before selecting your walks. Each walk has a price to pay and this is important to cover the cost of the walk, that is, the leaders and transport as well as organisation costs.
Most of the walks start or finish in Capel Curig. Capel Curig has a range of accommodation options and is only a ten minute drive from Betws y Coed where there are a host of good options for accommodation, eating and shopping. Our partnership with Plas y Brenin means that you can hire kit from there is you require it, please contact them directly for more information about this.
Please take a look at our booking conditions before booking a walk, you will find some useful information over there.
